I have stood there a little later than this photograph portrays (1960's) to watch my maternal grandfather Jack Quirk and other relatives either in or out to or from Iceland.

A sculpture now stands here marking the spot where generations waved to the trawlers taking their loved ones to sea, or returning them safely home.
